I created this artwork using soft pastel pencils. I wanted to create this pastel drawing to show that animals can also feel emotions and have familial connections. I wanted to depict the love I could see in the baby chimpanzee's eyes when it was looking at its mother, as well as the gentle and nurturing touch the mother was giving to her baby.
