A great egret, backlit by the sun, shows off breeding plumage and a bright green lore and yellow beak, contrasted against shadowy foliage beyond. The beauty and intensity of this bird drew me in, and I was able to take several reference photos, unnoticed, as her concentration was fully focused on fish moving in the water below.
