This graphite pencil drawing on extra smooth Bristol paper was drawn for the Association of Animal Artists Autumn Exhibition later this year. I wanted to create a piece that showed depth, so I heavily cropped this wonderful reference photo by Davina Shelter. By cropping the original photo I was able to create a background and a foreground, enhancing the illusion of depth.
