Little Brothers Overall Honorable Mention

A painting of three puffins on the rocks, inspired by the natural wildlife in my home state of Maine. Painted with oil on panel, in a disrupted realism style to give a sense of movement and life to the subjects and the windy, misty, ocean side environment they inhabit. Puffins are also referred to by the nickname "Little Brothers," which is the title for this piece. The name is what is translated from their latin name Fratercula arctica, meaning "little brother of the north."
